Integrating individuals with and without special needs

We have leased a 10,000 square foot building in Red Bank, NJ that is the new home of our community center. We are located at 62 White Street, Redbank NJ 07701.

Our community center is designed to create employment, educational and social opportunities to intergrate individuals with and without special needs. It houses our Design and Build Workshop, a cafe, retail store, as well as an Experiental Learning Program geared toward inclusive educational programming.

Our cafe, retail store and gaming lounge is open for breakfast and lunch Saturdays from 9am to 3pm . Classes will be in session Monday though Friday from 9am to 3pm. Our hours will be expanded to include Friday evenings and Saturdays in the near future.

Our employees will utilize 3D printers, laser engravers and other technology to make and sell hand-crafted items as well as other merchandise at our retail store. Build & Brew prides itself on being an inclusive community AND employer, offering meaningful employment to individuals with and without disabilities of all kinds.

Café

Light meals and beverages will be available for purchase. Our menu will include a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, home made pastries, cookies and other sweet treats. We will offer freshly made salads and smoothies as well as hot and iced coffee from our coffee bar. Flat breads, chicken fingers, snacks and other kid friendly food will also be offered.

Gaming Lounge

Our gaming lounge will contain hundreds of board games, video games, ping pong, a pool table, air hockey, foosball and other fun, mentally stimulating activities. Staff will be avalible to teach customers how to play our games and organize groups for customers to play games together.

Makerspace

Coming Soon

Nestled within our community center we have a 2000 square foot Makerspace with a wide varity of technology and equipment. Our Makerspace can be a huge asset to hobbiests, teachers preparing their classroom and buisnesses that need marketing materials. You can either send us your own design or select from our extensive list of predesigned 3D and 2D assets. Our staff will then process your order and print it out for you.

Design & Build Workshop

Our Design and Build Workshops will combine elements of art, graphic design and engineering to enable customers to design and create small functional 3D items and artisinal crafts using 3D printers, laser engravers and other equipment. Customers will be able to register for one of our scheduled workshops in advance. Additionally we offer private workshops that can include corporate events or birthday parties.

Meet Our Newest Team Member: A Humanoid Robot!

Our new humanoid robot is here and can't wait to meet you. Bring the whole family on Saturdays between 9am and 3pm to pose for photos and shoot fun videos with our futuristic friend. But the fun doesn't stop there—kids and adults alike can join our interactive workshop (Coming Soon) to learn how to program the robot. It's a chance to learn, play, and create lasting memories with the next generation of technology.

Race Car Environment

Our students are currently building a realistic RC (Remote Control)/ Slot Car racetrack, set in Japan for our customers to race with. Cars can travel the streets of Tokyo's night life, under mountains and through the idyllic countryside. We are currently designing tracks, cars, and entire ecosystems – blending 3D printing, graphic design, engineering, and entrepreneurship. The scenery will include electronic street signs and lights, miniature houses, businesses, people, trees and mountains.

We are currently looking for volunteers with a background in graphic design, engineering, carpentry, electronic, marketing and/ or computor sceince to help us with this project.

Inclusive Employment

The café, retail store, and the workshops at Build & Brew Café will offer the greatest employment oppertunities for individuals in Red Bank and the surrounding area. Build & Brew prides itself on being an inclusive community AND employer, offering meaningful employment to individuals with and without disabilities of all kinds. Many of our employment opportunities will involve direct and repeated interaction with the public. Some job opportunities include designing, assembling and selling` 3D printed kits and other crafts. Other opportunities include assisting with our workshops, maintaining 3D printing equipment, and preparing and serving food orders. These opportunities will allow for the development of valuable skills, foster independence and build character and confidence.

If an employee needs assistance on the job, we partner with a varieity of organizations that can utilize your DDD budget to provide you with a Job Coach. Job coaches are responsible for keeping their clients on task, providing direction and additional training on tasks that need to be done.

Social Events

We will organize events and community activities to encourage socialization.
Events include: trivia night, game shows, karaoke night, crafting night, board game events, and improv night.
These events will take place at our Build & Brew Café in Red Bank, NJ.

Individulized Services

Build & Brew Café partners with an organization called Inclusion Pathways who provides one-on-one in home and community based services to individuals with special needs. This can include Community/ Individual Supports, Prevocational Services, Supported Employment, Social and Life Skills Develupment and Tutoring Services. Your DDD (Division of Developmental Disabilities) budget can be utilized for these services.

There are two ways to receive their services:

  • A trusted family member or friend can be hired and paid to provide services for loved ones (this is called Family-directed services).

  • Alternatively, one of their existing trained Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s) can be utlized to provide services.
